Unair or Universitas Airlangga is located in Surabaya, East Java. Officially, the university was established since 1954. However, the background of the birth of Unair itself actually existed since 1847. At that time, the Dutch colonials wanted to establish a special high school of medicine. So it stood NIAS (Nederlandsxh Indische Artsen School on January 2, 1849. The school is a doctoral education school in Surabaya, East Java.

 



And NIAS is what eventually became the forerunner of Airlangga University. The current number of students studying in Unair is approximately 40,000 students. In Asia, Universias Airlangga is ranked 190th.
